Company Profile:
The firm is owned by Albert (Al) Anthony Melvin. Al is a Captain, USNR (Ret) with 30 years in the US Naval Reserve. One of his last assignments was Squadron Commander of COMPSRONTWO, a 14 ship squadron based at Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean. He has an unlimited tonnage Master's license issued by the USCG...
Al worked for three major shipping companies for over two decades including 12 years in the Far East: Korea (2), Japan (8) and Pakistan (2). In addition, he spent nine years at sea on US flag merchant vessels throughout the world.
Al has a BS degree in Ocean Transportation from the US Merchant Marine Academy, Kings Point, NY and an MBA from Thunderbird -the American Graduate School of International Management, Glendale, AZ. He is also a graduate of the US Naval War College, Newport, RI.
He is currently an Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Arizona, teaching trade, transportation, logistics and economics. He has taught for the University of Phoenix, Western International University and the California Maritime Academy.
Al and his wife reside in SaddleBrooke, a golf community just north of Tucson.
